I’m taking you back to the #ProjectOlympusModern client project today, and showing you a small but mighty playroom space that proves you don’t need an oversized space to create designated spaces for fun in your home.
First, a refresher on this home. We recently revealed the Basement Family Room, which is close in proximity to this playroom. I really like that our clients wanted a separate space for play, but kept it close to where the action is at in the family room.
In small spaces, organization is crucial. We designed a wall of built-in cabinetry to keep toys, puzzles, crafts, and costumes neatly tucked away when not in use.
I love how the navy feels kind of unexpected in this modern home and adds some depth to the room.
A sweet little play table and chair are the perfect place for artwork or dolls. A floor pouf serves double duty for pretend and reading.
With bold cabinets and a minimalist feel, we kept the styling bright, clean, and simple.
Perhaps the funnest part of the space is the modern air hockey table! It was tricky to make work with the room’s dimensions, but this space is such a great example of prioritizing and playing Tetris with the furnishings and floor plan.
We put together a design board inspired by this space with a few of the sources. What’s your favorite part of the room?
